The Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH2, Panasonic's flagship camera when it was launched in 2010, is a 'hybrid' Micro 4/3 mirrorless system camera designed for both photography and videography. Key features of the camera include a 16MP multi-aspect ratio (which allows for 3:2, 4:3, and 16:9 images without cropping) Live MOS sensor, a 3-inch 460,000-pixel swivel and touch-sensitive LCD screen, and a 1.53 million pixel EVF (electronic viewfinder). Though noted for its still photography and advanced HD video recording capabilities, the DMC-GH2 does not come with in-body stabilization.

The DMC-GH2, which updates the GH1, excels in video recording, and offers Full HD (1080p) at up to 24 frames per second (fps), with interlaced recording options at 50i and 60i for compatibility with broadcasting standards. While image shooters may gain some advantage from the higher resolution sensor (up from 12.1MP on the GH1), the GH2 can control the movie shooting process (both in terms of frame rate and shutter speed) and features a stereo microphone jack for better audio capture.

The images here were recorded with a vintage Lumix G 14mm 1:2.5 Asph., launched in 2010, one of the lightest interchangeable lenses available on the market. On Micro 4/3 cameras, the lens is equivalent to a 28mm lens on a 35mm full-frame. Aside from being preferred as the everyday lens, the focal length is highly recommended for architectural and landscape photography, street and travel photography, and thanks to its wide aperture, low-light, and night photography.

The lens, with 6 elements in 5 groups, including 3 aspherical lenses, and 7 rounded aperture blades, has a closet focusing distance of 0.18 meters. It is well-regarded within the Micro 4/3 community for its performance and portability.
