One of the interesting aspects of working with Olympus Viewer 3 (OV3) is the fact that the software suite comes with the Art Filter and Art Effect tool which is part of the software's RAW development tools.
Art Filters and Art Effect, the same as available as an on-camera option on Olympus E-camera systems, allows you to edit images with a range of creative effects, which may transform your images into works of art, or whatever your notion of what you are doing is.
On OV3 Art Filter and Art Effects can only be applied to *.orf Raw files, meaning that it will only work if your original image is shot in RAW.
Art Filters available, which may differ from what is offered as an option for in-camera setting, includes Soft Focus, Pop Art, Pale & Light Color, Light Tone, Pin Hole, Grainy Film, Diorama, Cross Process, Gentle Sepia, Dramatic Tone, Key Line, and Watercolor.
The Key Line art filter, which is used for this presentation, separated different colored areas with a thin black (or other dark colors) border and colored the areas with slight color variations, just like you see how comic strips and manga are illustrated and colored.
This creates the opportunity of editing photographic images into comic, or manga-like images, which can be stitched together into storyboards. All you need now are the text bubbles, and sound effects (not much of it here), and you will have yourself a complete comic strip, or manga presentation. Bet you it is a whole of fun doing it.
