The Olympus M.Zuiko 60mm f/2.8 Macro is a highly regarded macro lens for vintage Micro 4/3 enthusiasts with strong credentials — 1:1 magnification, superb sharpness, reasonable working distance, excellent handling, and whatever you want to add to the accolades. Introduced in 2012, the lens is also praised for its sharpness and color rendition with high-quality images in excellent detail. Advanced optical elements contribute to the overall image quality, and help minimize chromatic aberrations and ghosting.
The lens, with a focal length of 60mm (equivalent to 120mm in 35mm format) is also appreciated for its lightweight design, a focus limiter that enhances focusing speed by narrowing the focus range, and a fast 1:2.8 aperture for low-light performance and depth-of-field control. The dust and splashproof lens, built to withstand harsh outdoor conditions, shoots down to 0.19 meters, at a 1:1 magnification ratio, and goes hand in hand with in-body image stabilization (IBIS) found in many Olympus cameras for excellent handheld sessions and outdoor photography.
The M.Zuiko Digital ED 60mm 1:2.8 Macro has 13 elements in 10 groups and 7 circular blades. It is 82mm long with a 56mm diameter, an aperture range from 1:2.8 to 1:16, weighs 185 grams, and takes 46mm filters. The lens construction includes 1 ED lens, 2 HR lenses, and 1 E-HR lens.
