Using the 16MP CCD Olympus VR-370, a compact travel zoom with a 12.5x optical zoom lens that is equivalent to a 24-300mm lens in the 35mm format, could be more interesting and creative than you would have thought. The VR-370 features a built-in flash, an easy-to-use zoom and menu control, an ergonomic grip, and a very convenient one-touch video button. With a lens that goes from wide-angle to super-telephoto, the VR-370 is well suited for almost any photographic situation including group shots, interiors, and landscapes, as well as action shots and close-up portraits.
The camera is fitted with an AF Illuminator on the camera's front panel to add to the ease of shooting with Autofocus at close distances and increases illumination in low-light situations, as well as a Dual Image Stabilization algorithm that combines Sensor-Shift Image Stabilization with High ISO Sensitivity to set fast shutter speeds, and reduces the effect of camera shake when shooting in dim light or at long telephoto focal lengths.
Use the VR-370 to shoot in iAuto mode and the camera will read the scene and optimally adjust the camera's settings to match the scene selection that includes Sunset, Fireworks, Candlelight, Beach, Sport, and Face Detection. AF Tracking will follow a moving subject, like a pet or a child, and constantly adjust focus and exposure so the camera has the correct settings when you are ready to shoot.
The core of the VR-370's functionalities is the TruePic III+ Image Processor, the image processing engine with fast buffering and performance speeds that the camera uses to capture both high-resolution photos and HD video with accurate color and minimal noise.
In addition to the list of assistive features available, the VR-370 is also appended with the 'Magic Art Filters' algorithm which allows you to add special effects to your images like Soft Focus, Watercolor Effect, and Fish Eye, up to 10 filters in all, and Beauty Mode which can apply Photoshop-like enhancements to your portraits, softening shadows and smoothing wrinkles, and even whiten teeth and add eye shadow after you have taken the picture.
The Magic Art Filter And Drawing Special Effect Mode
The Drawing Special Effect mode, from the Magic Art Filter set, the choice for this presentation, is especially interesting and fun to work with. The mode represents the original image as monochromatic line art or line drawing on a usually plain background without gradations in shade or hue.

On the VR-370, when captured, the image is recorded twice, first in its as-seen form, which can be edited normally, and the edit settings copied and implemented onto the second Drawing Special Effect copy.

All the best!
